Alabama Roots Music Society
What Is It?
Alabama Roots Music Society or ARMS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that was formed to bring diverse musical genres into the central Alabama area. The current board of directors have been intimately involved in putting on musical events and have developed a network with other interested parties such that ARMS will be able to attract talent and sponsorship. By not limiting the organization to certain types of music, ARMS should be able to appeal to a wide range of people and performers. Knowing that Alabama has a rich musical history, ARMS wants to expose people of the area to live music of current Alabama artists and artists from across the country who have been influenced by those past Alabama icons.

UPCOMING EVENTS!

FREE Jazz Jam Sunday January 29 at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts - 2pm
Please come and listen or bring your instrument and sit in.
Musicians at any skill level are welcome.

Sponsored by the Alabama Roots Music Society and
the Montgomery Musuem of Fine Arts.

If your schedule allows PLEASE come out and sit in. Jazz covers a lot of bases and even if you don't regularly play jazz there are a lot of jazz tunes that are easy and fun to play for musicians who don't specialize in the genre. If you do play jazz regularly or occasionally, then come out, play some and encourage the other musicians to further explore this unique American art form.

Keep Jazz Alive!

A Special Thank You

Thank you to all the Live Music fans who came to our events in 2011. Thanks to the City of Montgomery and for allowing our volunteers to work in the interest of keeping outstanding musicians playing their music live in the Capitol City. Thanks to Old Alabama Town for a great outdoor venue.

We hope you made it out to hear some of the artists this past year and check back to see what's happening in 2012!
